Falling behind the group of warriors, brigands or not, they shouldn't be left to die to corrupted foliage. His grimoire let off a gold light from its pages and the symbol on its cover, and from his shadow beneath rose two small orbs like darkened sun shimmering through the clouds. From his hand he let out the mist that surrounded his target's canopy, before it would sharpen to needles piercing into it. He would shout to those he was assisting after already having appeared, but held any instruction beyond his announcement.

Jax put himself betwen the beasts and the treants, making himself and his intentions clear to both parties involved by taking his bardiche and making a sweeping strike to attempt to cleave both treants in twain while taking care to not hit any of the beasts.

Seeing the dark mist wasn't a clear sign of good intent at first, but beggars couldn't be choosers. If this one wanted to help, then they wouldn't bother worrying about the strange nature of the one that was before them. They would work to use it to their advantage instead, nodding to each other as the four moved out to slip past the now swirling leaves that was launched forward at the only target it had a relative idea of their location: Sorin as they moved to take it from different angles and unleash a flurry of strikes from their dual swords.
As Jax let loose the sweeping strike, the various creatures at first were apprehensive. But due to the lifestyle of Jax himself and the aura from him, they were able to see past their own frenzy at the time to instead heed the call of action. With his arrival the trees were distracted, Jax feeling the well of strength coming from behind him as they began to gather up power. They had tried to beat it down at first to no avail due to its regenerative nature. With the time he could buy them, they would be able to gather up their strength to cut through the hurdle that was now facing them with their own growing strength.

The beasts seemed to understand his intent and began to support Jax's own efforts. This time he would strike the foul aberrations down. He tenses his muscles and begins deflecting blow after blow from the treants. With each attack deflected his own aura begins to spark to life. A desire for combat made manifest.
Defense Jax has 80 DP, an accessory for -25% to 1 attack, and cover is boosted by Baiting swing for 70% effectiveness.

These ones seemed stronger than the other he had fought, but at least the strikers on his side were amicable to his help regardless of the form it took. They masterfully skirted around the leaves while he still had little option to push against them, aside from their slight decay at the hand of his needles weakening their momentum. Two additional spheres formed about Sorin even as he stood against the incoming flurry, now totaling four, before all wink out and a powerfully dense miasma wraps around the first arbor before following with the same piercing needles.

The leaves that were focused at Sorin had been directed toward the brigands as they kept up their attack, soon to be battered by the leaves that were sent their way and some poisoned by their venomous touch just the same. It would give Sorin the time he needed to cast the dense miasma against it, weakening it as a result and sapping at its vitality to at least make one more vulnerable to a continued attack by the human front against the affront to nature.
Jax was still able to keep the focus of the treants on himself for now, as the animals would soon follow suit as he kept their focus with his attack and the leaves swirled against him. They would move to and from, striking against the arbor with mighty blows spread among them to beat down both beyond the pacing that their recovery was able to keep up with.

Allowed a moment of rest, his vision would blur as the poison coursed through his body but soon refocus. The lapse in focus would see the leaves turning on the strikers and leave him to gather his bearings again for another similar attempt. Two more motes of darkness rising from his shadows, though one disappeared soon after it formed, needles from the next miasma turning to daggers.

The animals pounced on the ents ripping bark and gnashing branches, while he himself hacked and bashed at the fiends. Their assaulted got more and more fervored and to compensate so did Jax's.

The swordsmen did their best to carry themselves against the attacks, weathering the storm while two of them were under the effects of the poisoning now. They would commit to the same tree as well, the trees deciding to continue their focus against them as Sorin gathered his bearings and sought to keep the one down so it wouldn't be at its full strength.
Jax was allowed to deal a mighty blow along with the natural life adjusting and attacking from their two separate angles. They would divide and conquer, using Jax's great force and moving to assail it while they would work to bring the other down to equal measure. They had managed to tear through the bark and get closer to the natural font of life that the trees possessed, causing them to begin to focus some attention over there to force Jax to defend both himself and them now.

He couldn't keep up with their mounting offense, not in this state at least. Though the strikers were doing well to keep themselves alive, he wouldn't be able to help all of them unless the shadow beast would work in tandem, and that wasn't going to happen until it encroached on his body yet more. Against his better will of safety, he placed himself in formation with the Strikers as best he could. His miasma turned needles once again with two orbs of bright shadow adding to the one that already floated about him. He'd have to coax the beast to the front with great risk for enough reward to last out. At least it seemed as if Jax and his entourage of animals were handily beating back their pair, so there was no worry on the other side.

The beast ripped apart the creatures, and yet they rose once more. The beasts vicious attacks being met this time with the treants brutality. Seeing this, Jax lunged to their aid. Deflecting blow after blow for the beasts while leaving himself open to the other teants whipping tendrils and leaves.
(I missed out on several attacks of cover damage on accident by forgetting the second swing of all of those attacks. Whoopsie! Noted for goin' forward.) As Sorin surmised, they wouldn't be able to keep this up for much longer. If not for what he had done with the impaling tactic, more of them would be pressured. As it stood one of them was still already at their limit. Moving forward, it sought to aim down the one that pushed ahead and let loose the destructive leaf storm in his direction. To combat this, they would each aim to try and alleviate it by having it spread it out amongst them in the following rotation as they let loose with their blades.
Jax lunging to their aid had aided them, allowing them to regroup and preparing to start their savage assault once more. The treants were stuck with Jax in the meantime as his own brutal swing was enough to stave them off, forcing their hand as the leaf storm was directed once more at the defender to try to mow him down and get to that which was behind him.

Jax gritted his teeth and winced as the blade-like leaves whirled around like a tornado. He grinned at the ents and recollected himself. He had their attention for now. Their ability to grow as the battle went on mimic'd his own. As if spurring each other onwards to more lethal heights. While he kept up for now it wasn't clear who could win in this battle of wills. He did not need to point or gesture to the one he wished them to attack. Being beasts of the jungle they would know "fresh blood in the water" as it were. to strike at the weaker of the two ents.

Unfortunately, the risk was too great for him to handle. For them to spread the damage about their numbers was intelligent at least, but with just one to fight a flurry of toxic leaves from two arbors could only be done at the beginning, and they had grown considerably in the time the battle had raged on. It was humiliating to a degree, he had hoped to tarry along with Jax longer but as soon as he put others before himself, he'd end up naught but a burden. It was made unbearably clear the moment the flurry first reached him, and though he had tried to weather it admirably, seeing the remainder sapped what little stamina he had left and he stumbled back into the forestry and onto the ground, the spheres of dark melting back into his shadow and its own form roiling beneath him in jagged and turbulent waves to fend off the remainder of the leaf storm. He now struggled at the edge of consiousness with the will to keep his inner beast from retaliating out in time for Jax to finish the job, hopefully before the Strikers he'd poorly offered help to were torn apart as well.

Sorin's group was in dire straits, while Jax's direction and natural instinct drove them to pile upon the one as the trees focused on him. They would be able to visibly see the branches and bark being torn apart from the tree, withering it as they at last brought another close to the edge. With Sorin's work on the other, there were two now that were open as it was clear that Sorin's group wouldn't last much longer. It would take a bit of weaving, but there was still a path to victory that could be observed here despite how desperate the situation had started to become.
